On occasion of its 17th edition, the Festival, Prize and International Accordeon Contest “Città di Castelfidardo” gave Riccardo Tesi the “Voce d’oro” prize for his active role in spreading and enhancing the value of the concertina on the international musical scene. In the previous years the prize had been awarded to prominent artists such as Richard Galliano, Astor Piazzolla, Gianni Coscia, Antonello Salis and others. On the final evening, in the joyful and crowded Astra Theater in Castelfidardo, Tesi performed with the full line-up of Banditaliana, featuring Maurizio Geri on guitar and voice, Claudio Carboni on saxophone, Ettore Bonafé on tabla and vibraphone, Daniele Mencarelli on double bass and Marco Fadda on percussion, with songwriter Gian Maria Testa as a special guest, presenting some of his songs both in duo with Tesi and the whole Banditaliana group.
